Give the title, author, publisher, copyright date, genre (how do you know the genre - from the back of the book, the title page, the text?), a description of the cover of the book, and the main character(s) you have met so far and on what page you first met them.The title of my book is The Wizard Of Oz by L. Frank Baum which was published in 1903 by AERIE. When I look on the cover of my book I see a castle and a Scarecrow, Tin woodsman, a Lion and a girl dancing and having so much fun. I know they are having fun because they are smiling and you know if you are dancing you're happy. So far I liked the book and I learned that in my book animal talks and that tells me that the genre is Fantasy and I had to ask the teacher what the genre so she gives me some background of the genre. so far I met 3 characters;
-Uncle Henry who was a farmer. page1.
-Aunt Em who was the farmer's wife. I found this information on page 1.
Mary,
ReplyDeleteGood job setting up the response and answering all parts of the question. I really like how you explained knowing what the genre is - you didn't just say "my teacher told me."
Grade: 5
Next Steps:
Grammar: Read your sentences aloud slowly. In your second one and 3rd one you are missing "little words" like 'a' and 'the'.
Presentation: The response should be in 2 - 3 paragraphs. Use the same font for the whole thing.
Details: How do you know they are having fun, on the cover? Are they smiling?
To get advanced: You need to provide more of what you think about the book. Do you like it? What have you learned so far? Does the cover help you figure out the genre? Do you like the cover?
Details: Is it just animals talking that makes this a fantasy? Look at two of the characters on the cover.
